MAKE SURE to write down your claim number. It will be needed frequently during the course of your insurance claim and roofing repairs process. It may take a few days for your claim’s adjuster to get in touch with you to schedule an appointment. Once you have your claims adjuster’s information (Name, phone number, and email address) AND an appointment scheduled, pass this information on to Restoration Partners. We will discuss a re-roofing settlement with your insurer. We guarantee that you’ll receive the highest quality roof system from our team of expert roofers.

Restoration Partners is here to serve as your advocate all through the re-roofing process. We highly recommend that you have a roofing contractor attend this meeting. Having a professional assess your roof alongside your adjuster will help verify the extent of the roofing damage.

Many adjusters will want to talk with your roofing contractor because they understand your position. As much as they appreciate your business, it’s an insurance carrier’s job to keep their expenses down. Working directly with your roofing company helps alleviate any fears you may have that you’re not receiving an honest insurance quote. Photos of the damaged roofing and measurements will also be taken during this assessment meeting.

Once your insurance adjuster is done performing an assessment of your roofing damage, they will generate a claim summary. This claim summary will detail the scope of necessary repairs or replacements. These claim summaries are usually found online through your insurance subscriber account, or mailed to your physical address on file. Double-check that your insurance adjuster has the correct home address and contact information down for you! This will prevent any delays in receiving your claim summary.

Xactimate pricing software is a tool that most insurance carriers use. It helps them determine the fair market price of your roofing replacement claim. Restoration Partners also uses Xactimate’s software to generate our inspection reports and pricing assessments. This means that our pricing per unit should be the same as your insurance carrier’s estimate. Once you receive your claim summary, we will compare it to our own report and make sure there are no discrepancies. If there is a difference between our estimated scope of work and your insurer’s, our team’s insurance liaison will reach out on your behalf. Don’t worry, you won’t need to spend time going over roofing components or measurements with your insurer to correct the estimate. In most cases, we’ll just fax them or email them our inspection report and resolve the discrepancy.

Your initial settlement check should arrive around the same time as the claim summary. If it’s addressed to yourself AND your mortgage company, you will need to contact them in order to get their endorsement. Every company has its own directions to follow. Many mortgage companies will require you and your contractor to fill out documentation. If the initial check seems small compared to the full cost of re-roofing, there may be a few reasons for this. Your deductible and depreciation will both factor into this check. Most homeowners choose “Replacement Cost” coverage, rather than “Actual Cost Value” coverage. If this is the case for you, we will facilitate the recovery of your depreciated value at the proper time. Recovery of depreciation is done once your re-roofing services have been completed. Your deductible is the portion that will be withheld by the insurer and will not be paid back to you. The deductible is your co-pay, which is paid to Restoration Partners. The full cost of the roofing replacement is the sum of the first insurance check, your deductible, the amount of depreciation, and any approved supplements.

Once your settlement check arrives, your deductible is paid, and your insurance claim summary is updated, your new roof can be installed! Restoration Partners will provide you with a new high-quality roofing system in the shingle of your choice.

Once you’ve received your last insurance check and secured any mortgage company endorsements that you need, Restoration Partners will collect the final balance due for the roof. As a courtesy, we provide a 30-day grace period from the completion of your new roof installation. This is usually enough time for the insurance process to finalize — however, special allowances can be made on an as-needed basis if the insurance process is delayed on the end of either the insurance or mortgage companies.
